The Father’s love
Have you ever had a really bad day? You had a fight with your spouse. That led to an uproar among the children, you are late leaving for work and then along the way, for some unknown reason, a driver nearly hits you, then looks at you and is gesturing. Reading his lips, you know he is swearing???? Finally, you arrive at work, park the car and walk towards the building. As you near the entrance, a young man pushes past you. But then, he opens the door and grandly stands aside saying, “Enter here my friend.” At that moment, your heart is pricked by the sudden kindness, inside the bubble of distress bursts and out pours all that pain. You look at the young man through unstoppable tears and mumble a thanks as, embarrassed, you wonder what happened. And what did happen. Problems had filled your heart with pent-up negative emotion. That act of kindness pierced through the upset, breaking and dispersing it.
This is so much like the touch of Jesus. Over the years we get full of the pains of life. Then when we touch Jesus and He touches us, the Father’s love pours in, the bubble of pain bursts and out flows all the pent-up pain. The stark contrast between all the hurt and all the love is overwhelming. Our tears will likely flow, almost seeming to cleanse us. But it is not the tears that cleanse, it is the Love of the Father. It’s what we need. It’s the only thing that helps….
Have you ever found that to be so? If not, you need to experience the Father’s love!
