Providing a Drink of Living Water to a dry and thirsty World

The End

If you think this is the end, it’s not. It’s only the beginning. God loves you and He wants you to experience peace and life. If you’re not experiencing this right now God wants you to. God desires to have an intimate, personal relationship with you. He is the friend who sticks closer than a brother. He will never leave you or forsake you. No matter what you are going through, God is always there.

If you already know God but you’re feeling just a little dry, then go back to the well and take a drink.… Read more

The Empty Chair

A man’s daughter had asked the local pastor to come and pray with her father. When the pastor arrived, he found the man lying in bed with his head propped up on two pillows and an empty chair beside his bed. The pastor assumed that the old fellow had been informed of his visit. “I guess you were expecting me,” he said.

“No, who are you?”

“I’m the new associate at your local church,” the pastor replied. “When I saw the empty chair, I figured you knew I was going to show up.”

“Oh yeah, the chair,” said the bedridden… Read more

Funnies

A fifteen-year-old boy came bounding into the house and found his mom in bed. He asked if she were sick or something. He was truly concerned. Mom replied that, as a matter of fact, she didn’t feel too well. The son replied, “Well, don’t worry a bit about dinner. I’ll be happy to carry you down to the stove.”

Sometimes We Don’t Recognize the Gift

The little child whispered, “God, speak to me”
And a meadowlark sang.
But the child did not hear.

So the child yelled, “God, speak to me!”
And the thunder rolled across the sky
But the child did not listen.

The child looked around and said,
“God let me see you”
And a star shone brightly
But the child did not notice.

And the child shouted,
“God show me a miracle!”
And a life was born
But the child did not know.

So the child cried out in despair,
“Touch… Read more

This is the most wonderful beauty secret ever given to us women. The women I know who practice these secrets are truly beautiful.

For your ears — listen to the Word of God
For your heart — use kindness, forgive yourself and others
For your hands — use gentleness
For your posture — use uprightness, walk with knowledge and self-esteem

Someone Is Watching You

The passengers on the bus watched sympathetically as the attractive young woman with the white cane made her way carefully up the steps. She paid the driver and, using her hands to feel the location of the seats, walked down the aisle and found the seat he’d told her was empty. Then she settled in, placed her briefcase on her lap and rested her cane against her leg.

It had been a year since Susan, thirty-four, became blind. Due to a medical misdiagnosis she had been rendered sightless, and she was suddenly thrown into a world of darkness, anger,… Read more

How Much Is Time Worth

A man came home from work late again, tired and irritated, to find his 5 years old son waiting for him at the door.

“Daddy, may I ask you a question?”

“Yeah, sure, what is it?” replied the man.

“Daddy, how much money do you make an hour?”

“That’s none of your business! What makes you ask such a thing?” the man said angrily.

“I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?” pleaded the little boy.

“If you must know, I make $20.00 an hour.”

Bragging about Dad

Three boys are in the school yard bragging about their fathers. The first boy says, “My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a poem, they give him $50.”

The second boy says, “That’s nothing. My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a song, they give him $100.”

The third boy says, “I got you both beat. My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he calls it a sermon . . . and it takes eight people to collect all the money!”

A Father’s Gift

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer’s showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.

As his Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a… Read more

Do You Trust Me

I tell you to go this way
But you turn and walk another way

I tell you speak this word
But you say I don’t know if I really heard.

Don’t you trust Me?

I tell you look at all I’ve made for you
And you turn to man to see if he approves.

Just for you I flung the starts, the sun, and the moon in the sky
And there you sit scratching your head and wondering why

Don’t you trust Me?

To Calvary I sent my son, even if you were the only oneRead more

A Simple Prayer

by Peggy Porter

My son Gilbert was eight years old and had been in Cub Scouts only a short time. During one of his meetings he was handed a sheet of paper, a block of wood and four tires and told to return home and give all to “dad”.

That was not an easy task for Gilbert to do. Dad was not receptive to doing things with his son. But Gilbert tried. Dad read the paper and scoffed at the idea of making a pine wood derby car with his young, eager son. The block of wood remained… Read more

What Is Your Worth To God?

A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, “Who would like this $20 bill?” Hands started going up.

He said, “I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this.” He proceeded to crumple the dollar bill up.

He then asked, “Who still wants it?” Still the hands were up in the air.

“Well,” he replied, “What if I do this?” And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He… Read more

The Butterfly

Often we wonder why those around us, family, friends, church family and sometimes co-workers keep going through struggles. They keep going around the same mountain or having the same struggle. Now I am not saying we will not have struggles, for Jesus said in John 16:33, “These things have I spoken unto you that in me ye might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world.” So we will have struggles, but they do not have to be the same. The word tells us that His mercies are… Read more

From the Editor

Another month has come and gone and another edition of “The Well” is ready. This issue is the third edition. The first two editions have been a real success. For the first edition only 300 copies were printed. For the second edition 1000 copies were printed. The second edition was so successful that nearly all 1000 copies were distributed within one week of the first release date! Praise the Lord!

“The Well” is now reaching other states. A missionary visiting our church took 50 copies to a Missionary Convention in Kentucky. Three Rivers Gospel distributed about 200… Read more
